What is it?
COREPER is the permanent representation (Committee of Permanent Representatives) in Brussels for a country member state of the Union. See wikipedia for more information on their role. Because the Council and the Parliament did not agree on a set of amendments before the Parliament's Second Reading, COREPER I is now responsible for preparing the agenda for Ministers to vote on as the Directive goes into conciliation.
Finnish presidency
For second half of 2006, the EU has a Finnish presidency and thus Finnish COREPER is responsible for preparing passage of legislation.
Ms TALSI Tuija (Counsellor - Chemicals, nature conservation, fresh water, environmental information) is responsible for preparing the agenda for INSPIRE. We don't suggest contacting her directly - though helpful she is incredibly busy, and as a neutral bureaucrat cannot make policy statements. At this stage it makes more sense to Contact_Your_Minister for the Environment directly at a national level.
